How I Found My Path in Medical Coding
I did not start my career as a coder. I began working in healthcare as a biller and collector, where I became curious about the work the coding team was doing. That curiosity led me to investigate medical coding more deeply. I pursued certification and quickly discovered how powerful this skillset could be.

After becoming certified, new opportunities opened immediately. I was able to move into higher compensation roles and leadership positions, which confirmed that coding was not only intellectually rewarding but also a strong career pathway.
Why I Became an Instructor
After experiencing the impact coding had on my own career, I wanted to help others find the same opportunity.
I pursued instructor certification and licensing so I could teach coding professionally and responsibly.
To ensure I could truly support my students, I obtained certifications in the areas I teach. I believe that if I’m guiding someone into a career, I should personally understand the work they will be doing.
My Commitment to Students
My goal is not simply to teach coding concepts.
My goal is to help students build the confidence, skills, and certification needed to pursue real coding careers.
Seeing students pass their certification exams and step into the workforce is the most rewarding part of the work I do.
